Lowell E. Girardier

Girardier, Lowell E., Friday, March 26, 2010. Beloved husband of Beverly J. Girardier; dear father and father-in-law of Sue (Rick Hampp) Girardier and the late Linda Girardier; former spouse of Nadine Girardier; dear brother and brother-in-law of Charles (Shirley) Girardier and the late Ira Girardier and Jean Beger; brother-in-law of Viola Girardier; step-father of Mark and Eric (Shelly) Dalton and Michelle Shaffner; grandfather of Jared, Rachel, Aubrie, Derek, Wade, Brandon, Timothy, Amber and Nathan; dear uncle of Chris (Carla) Girardier and Charles Girardier, Jr.; loving uncle to many nephews and nieces. Lowell was in the construction business beginning in 1955 and was president of Girardier Building & Realty, a general contracting firm specializing in custom-built homes, churches, schools, stores, offices and warehouses throughout the metropolitan area. He was co-founder of DePaul Foundation since 1996 and served on DePaul Health Center and served on SSM DePaul Health Center community advisory board for the past 17 years. Lowell was a member of the Florissant Rotary Club since 1973 where he served as president, vice-president, secretary and district conference chairman; service to the Florissant Chamber of Commerce for 29 years and Business Person of the Year in 1992; membership on the Rosary High School board and receiving their Ambassador's Award in 1995. Lowell served as a Director for Marygrove, Florissant Valley Shelter Workshop, Emerson Electric YMCA. In addition to being a member of NCI, he served as president, membership chairman and director and received the Outstanding Citizen Award and the Elmer Belsha Leadership Award. He exemplified his pride in North County through his countless hours of volunteerism to many different organizations. He will be missed by many. Visitation will be at Hutchens Mortuary & Cremation Center, 675 Graham Rd., Florissant, Monday, March 29th from 2-9 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, March 30, 2010 at First Christian Church of Florissant, 2890 Patterson Rd.
