Dianna Lynn Farris

Dianna Lynn (Brandt) Farris, age 43, of Hazelwood, MO lost her 10 year battle with Brain Cancer, on Sunday August 21, 2016. Dianna was born to Sheila (Katie) and Paul Brandt of Piedmont, MO (formerly of Granite City, IL) on April 6, 1973. She graduated from Granite City High School in 1991. She then attended Illinois College and Truman State University. Dianna met her soul-mate Mark Farris in the summer of 1997 and they married 6 short months later. They have two wonderful children, Jacob (14) and Molly (10). Dianna is survived by her husband, Mark; son, Jacob; daughter, Molly; parents, Katie and Paul; siblings: Debbie (Brandt) and John Lunyou of Piedmont, MO; Paul Jr. and Kathy Brandt of Granite City, IL; Vicky (Brandt) and Nate Hagen of Wheeler, IL; Stephanie (Brandt) and Tim Chavosky of Piedmont, MO. Nieces and nephews: Michelle, Patrick, Tyler, Elaina, Luke, Brandt, Kyla, Jarrett, Mike, Paul, Will; daughter-in-law to Ron and Gina; dear sister-in-law, niece, aunt, cousin and friend. Dianna worked many years as a title processor in the real estate field until sweet Molly was just three and a half weeks old and Jake was four. This is when she had her first seizure and the brain tumor was found. After treatments, she was able to be a stay at home mom. Dianna volunteered in her children’s schools and helped friends. For the next 8 years her MRIs and doctor’s appointments went quite well. Until April of 2015, when another tumor was found and she underwent surgery to remove 80% of a large tumor. Dianna surprised the doctors when she fed herself just 13 hours after surgery and was cleared to go home just 4 days later. Dianna spent a month in Texas at the MD Anderson Hospital receiving treatments. MD Anderson gave us another year with our beloved Dianna. In April of 2016 another tumor was found, but results were not the same, inoperable, untreatable. She fought hard these past few months. Dianna will be dearly missed but not forgotten. Visitation services will be on Wednesday August 24th from 4-8pm. Funeral services will be held on Thursday August 25th at 10 am. All services are to be held at Hutchens Mortuary. Interment will be private.
