By daughter Georgann Kays How do I sum up my dad in a few words? I took my Dad for granted. To me he was invincible, unmoveable. I was a handful at times and he seemed to look past all my issues and rowdiness. He taught me about cars and because of him I am a "motorhead." I have the tastes that a boy would like. He never made me be a girly-girl. He let me be who I was. If I wanted to play football with the boys, he let me. If I wanted or needed to look and dress like a lady, he always told me I looked pretty. He was stern when he needed to be. But most of the time, he would run interference for some trouble I got into with my Mom. The first thing my Dad taught me was to fix a car. I remember sitting on the engine block of the "Battlestar Galactica" and bugging him on what he was doing. And he handed me a screwdriver and said, "Do this!." And he said this with a twisting motion with his hand; I did it and the horn beeped. I thought that was the greatest thing in the world. Then he showed me how to check the fluids and I loved it. When I got older, Daddy showed me how to cut the grass. It was fun at first but then I found out it was a chore. Well, Dad taught me how to tear things apart so I figured out how to break the mower so I wouldn't have to cut grass. He knew and never said a word! He let me keep breaking it. I was a lucky kid. Most kids only get one Dad; I got two, my blood Dad and my Daddy. My Daddy was a good man. He has five daughters: Christine, Melinda and Melissa Barnhart, myself, Georgann Kay (nee Deming) and Shannon Deming. He worked hard to do what he could for us. He loved us all the same. He missed and loved my sisters, and all he ever wanted for us was to be happy and healthy. My Mom was his world. He wanted to give her the moon and stars. He was a good son to my grandparents. My Dad loved classic cars and classic movies and gool old classic rock-and-roll. He could talk for hours on any and all subjects. He always made me stand my ground on anything. If I knew I was right, he would make me prove it. He would never let me give up. He always told me if I wanted the world, "Don't wait for some one to give it to you." He told me to take it. Make everyone see my point of view and don't let anyone push me down. He told me to stand and fight. Because of him, I am a fighter! I fight for what's right. And I don't let anyone run me over. In my eyes, my Dad was Superman!
