Bernard Joseph "Bernie" Quinn, 94, joined our Savior, Saturday, April 23, 2016. Beloved husband of 49 years to the late Yvonne M. (O'Neill) Quinn; father of Margaret (David) Nissen, Nancy (Robert) Bilzing, James (Carol) Quinn, Patricia (Anthony) Weiss, Michael (Cindy) Quinn, Mary (Donald) Crangle, Brian (Judy) Quinn, Thomas (Lucinda) Quinn, Robert Quinn, Kathleen (Robert) Bayes and Janine (Katie) Quinn; beloved brother of Daniel, Robert, Thomas and the late Richard (Dick), Rita, Helen, John, William and Mary Ann; cherished cousin of the late Gertrude; dearest grandfather of Michael, Darlene, Christopher, Matthew, Travas, Zachery, Erika, James, Claire, Anthony, Timothy, Carrie, William, Alan, Melissa, Donald, Matthew, Jason, Valerie, Alexis, Hunter, Jackson, Jacob, Amanda, Benjamin (BJ), Daniel, Leah, Brian and Samuel; loving great-grandpa of Caroline, Maggie, Emily, Isabella, Lucas, Ayla, Athena, Declan, Kaylee, Caden, Conner, Elliot, Ryder, Owen,Talen, Branden, Malik, Nathaniel, Maya, Bella, Jason, Samuel, Camryn, Bryson and Gavin; loving uncle and great uncle; caring neighbor and friend to many; caring Rosary Group host and friend. Bernie was born in Lima, Ohio on November 27, 1921 and lived 20 years in Toledo, Ohio. He served his country as a decorated Sergeant in WWII in the Army Air Corps, 161st Tactical Reconnaissance Squadron. He met his beloved wife, Eve, in Toledo and soon after they moved to California, where Bernie was a mechanical design engineer with Hughes Aircraft and Aerojet General. They lived for five years in Ogden, Utah where he worked at Marquardt. After moving his family to St. Louis in 1965, he worked at McDonnel Aircraft until he retired at age 65 to care for Eve, who suffered from multiple sclerosis. Masses, prayers and thoughts are deeply appreciated. Visitation will be Thurs, April 28, 4-8 pm at HUTCHENS Mortuary, 675 Graham Rd, Florissant. Procession from Hutchens Mortuary at 9:30 am on Fri., April 29, for 10am mass at St. Rose Philippine Duchesne, 2650 Parker Rd, Florissant. Memorials may be made to St. Rose Philippine Duchesne or Immaculate Heart of Mary (New Melle). Interment will be at Sacred Heart Cemetery, Florissant with military honors. In tribute to the veteran and family, the procession will be escorted to the cemetery by the Patriot Guard.
