Lucille Diane Johnson Bedan

Lucille Diane Johnson Bedan, 73 of St Louis, MO passed away after bravely fighting an ongoing infection in 2006 and multiple battles with cancer over the last 10 years. Lucille was born in Seattle, WA to Herbert and Claris Johnson. She grew up in Seattle and went to Roosevelt High School and graduated in 1953. She attended the University of Washington and graduated in 1957 with a BA in History and a Masters Degree in Library Science in 1959. She married David Bedan in June 1963 in Everett, WA and they moved to South Bend, IN where she worked in the library at Notre Dame while David attended the University. This is also where she started her family, Kristin and Mike. The family moved to St Louis in 1967 where she worked in the Libraries at St Louis Community College, St Louis University, and ended her career with 31 years of service at Rosati-Kain High School. She was involved in many organizations; a few of them were the Teddy’s Echo Board (newspaper) @ Roosevelt High School. Alpha Xi Delta Sorority & Rally Girls @ the University of Washington. In both high school and college she was in the Mountaineers (a skiing club). She spent much time in the outdoors during her life and went on many skiing, camping, canoeing and hiking trips. She was also a member of Mary Queen of Peace Church and the American Library Association. She will be dearly missed by her daughter, Kristin Schinzing (Gregg) of Chesterfield, MO; son Michael Bedan (Shirley Fu) of Littleton, CO; grandson, Kyle Schinzing; brother in law Robert Priest; niece Sally Priest Hughes (David); niece Marcia Johnson Martinez (David); nephew Mark Johnson and many dear friends.
