Loretta (nee:Watson) Price

Loretta Jane Price, 90, of St. Louis, and recently Fulton MO, passed away Friday, January 8, 2016 at Presbyterian Manor in Fulton MO. She was born in St. Louis on April 6, 1925, the seventh of ten children of John Bayard Watson and Estelle Irene (Sherer) Watson; great-great granddaughter of Ringrose Drew Watson and Frances (Mahon) Watson of Limerick, Ireland. She graduated from Ferguson High School in June 1946, and on January 20, 1951 was united in marriage to John "Jack" Paul Price at St. Frances Xavier's Church at St. Louis University. Together they purchased a house in Glasgow Village in North County St. Louis, where they raised their 4 children, as members of St. Pius X parish. Jack and Loretta were divorced in 1974. Loretta continued to live in Glasgow Village until 2008. She moved to Presbyterian Manor in Fulton, Missouri in 2011, where she was associated with St. Peter's Church. Loretta started working full time when her youngest child started school. she was comptometer operator for 7 years with Sligo Steel, and later sold shoes at Stix, Bear and Fuller Department Store. She retired after working about 5 years in the accounting Department at the Famous and Barr Department Store in downtown St. Louis. Loretta was preceded in death by her sisters Catherine McMichael, Mary Gittemeier, Ann Watson, Delores Villanueva, and Rev. Margaret Watson, and by her brothers Frances "Blackie" Watson, Joseph Watson, Eugene Watson, and Myles Watson. She is survived by her children John and Martha Price of Kansas City, MO; Mark and Jessica Price of St. Louis; Brian and Linnie Price of Fulton, MO, and Monica Devine of Jacksonville, FL; Her grandchildren Amy (Price) and Ryan Ryland of San Antonio, TX; Mark Jr. and Whitney Price of Carterville, IL; Kyle Price of Chicago; Samantha (Price) and Ryan Hedrick of Knoxville, TN; Nick Price of Los Angeles, CA; Alex Price of St. Louis; Ali Devine and Elizabeth Devine of Jacksonville FL; great grandmother to Edward and Adalee of Carterville, IL. She will be missed by numerous nieces with whom she regularly kept in touch. Visitation will be Thursday, January 14, 2016 at Hutchens Mortuary, 675 Graham Road, Florissant, MO from 3-8 pm. Funeral service will be Friday 10am at Hutchens Mortuary. Entombment will follow at Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery on Graham Road.
