Lenore Rose Mason

Lenore Rose Mason, born September 4th, 1931, died June 19th, 2016. Lenore is survived by her loving husband of 65 years, William David Mason, and their five children, eldest son Mark Mason and his wife Sheree, son Thomas Mason and his wife Marilyn, daughter Mary Corcoran and her husband Mike, daughter Monica Mason, and daughter Kathleen McKeever and her husband Jim. Lenore is also survived by thirteen grandchildren, Sara Mason Pohl and her husband Craig, Matthew Mason and his life partner Rachael, Bridget Mason Hess and her husband Clayton, Erin Kate Mason Elwood and her husband Jim, grandson Will Mason, granddaughter Grace Freeman and her husband Joe, grandchildren Ann Corcoran, Samantha McKeever, Kimberly McKeever, Margaret Imer and her husband Jeffrey, Laura McKeever, Mary Rose McKeever, and James McKeever. In addition to the thirteen grandchildren, there are twelve surviving great grandchildren as well. Lenore was born and raised in Florissant, attending school and mass at the Old St. Ferdinand parish. She also married her husband William Mason there on September 2nd, 1950. Lenore was an active, vital member of the St. Sabina parish from its founding in 1960, until 2015. She was a Eucharistic minister for 30 years, and served 32 years for the "Love in Action" group which organizes and serves post funeral meals to grieving families. Evidence that Lenore lived her life guided by her faith was in her daily actions. She helped many who were in need, whether it was simply listening with a sympathetic ear, or rolling up her sleeves to assist those that needed help the most. As an example of quiet charity, perennial wisdom, and loving acceptance to all, she is unsurpassed. She was loved by all who knew her, and will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Visitation will be held Friday July 22nd, from 4-8 pm at Hutchens Mortuary, 675 Graham Road in Florissant. A memorial for Lenore will be held Saturday, July 23rd, at 10:00am at Old St. Ferdinand Shrine, 1 St. Francois Street in Florissant. There will be a luncheon after the mass, in the adjacent schoolhouse at Old St. Ferdinand, served by the "Love in Action" ladies from St. Sabina parish. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests you consider a donation to Old St. Ferdinand Shrine in Lenore's name or a donation to the Alzheimer's Association, also in her name.
