Beverly J. Blount

Beverly June Blount of St. Clair, Missouri, formerly of Ferguson, Missouri, departed this life at her home, surrounded by the love of her family, on February 26, 2014, having reached the age of seventy-five years, eight months and twenty-two days. Beverly was born in Lobelville, Tennessee on June 4, 1938, the daughter of Mathew Clarence Melton and Eula Mae Melton (nee Ferguson). As a young woman, she was united in mariage and blessed to have one daughter. In 1959, she was united in marriage to Bobby James Blount, and one daughter came to bless this union. Berverly is survived by one daughter, Vickie Overall and husband, Gary, of Ferguson, Missouri; by ber brother, Joey Melton and wife, Eva, of Crestview, Florida; by her son-in-law, Dave Leisure of Pevely, Missouri; by six grandchildren, Brandy Blount and companion, Greg, of Winfield, Missouri, Gregory Chapman of Owensville, Missouri, Kevin Overall of Ferguson, Missouri, Keith Overall and wife, Kassandra, of Wood River, Illinois, Marissa Leisure of Pevely, Missouri, and Michael Overall of Middleton, Tennessee; by six great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, great and great-great-nieces and nephews, cousins, other relatives and many friends. Beverly was preceded in death by her parents, Matthew and Eula Melton; by her husband, Bobby Blount; by her daughter, Sandra Leisure, and by two sisters, Goldus Presly and Melvine Stevens. During her working career, Beverly was employed at Skinner & Kennedy Printing Company, Berkley, Missouri, as a macine operator, retiring after more than twenty years of service. It was after her retirement twenty years ago that she moved to St. Clair. She had a variety of interests throughout her life, including spending time outdoors, camping and watching the sun set. She was also an avid reader and most especially loved going to the river boat casinos. She also injoyed having lunch at Lewis Cafe with her many friends. Beverly loved life and lived it to the fullest. She thought the world of her family, and they thought the same of her. The love they shared and the many wonderful memories they created will be forever cherished by them all. A kind a loving mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, sister-in-law, aunt, great and great-great-aunt, cousin and treasured friend. She will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew and loved her. Visitation was held on Tuesday, March 4, 2014, at Russell Colonial Funeral Home, St. Clair, Missouri, with a memorial service following, Sister Lu Parker officiating. Visitation at Hutchens Mortuary, Florissant, Missouri, 10 a.m. until noon, Wednesday, March 5, 2014, followed by a chapel service at Sacred Heart Cemetery, Florisant.
