Betty Finn

Betty Finn, 76, passed away Friday, June 9, 2017 at her home in Chapel Hill, NC, surrounded by her family. Beloved wife of Robert Finn; loving mother of Lisa (husband Vinnie Powell) Finn-Powell, Michael (wife Lori) Finn, Tina Finn, Kari (wife Kristi Ulmer) Finn, Kelly (husband Sam) Taylor; grandmother to Grace and William Graznak, Nicholas, Isabelle and Charlie Powell, Andrew and Evie Taylor, and Grace Bogne; beloved sister of Nikki (husband Michael Dawson) Dino and the late Michael Dino; loving aunt to Teri (husband Mike) Nichols and Patrick Doss; great-aunt to Zeke Doss and friend of many. She was born on October 11, 1940 in St. Louis, Missouri to Nicholas and Florence Dino. She graduated from Riverview Gardens High School and took a job with Bell Telephone. She was introduced to Robert Finn by her friend and future sister-in-law, the late Jacqueline Finn. The couple married on October 10, 1963. They settled in Florissant, MO and together raised their family of five children. She was a member of St. Sabina Church and The Ferguson Lions Club for many years and enjoyed singing and acting in community productions. In the early 80's, she worked as a nurse's aid at DePaul Hospital in St. Louis. Later she became a real estate agent and worked for Century 21 Patterson for many years. In 1999, she won Realtor-Associate of the Year Award and the Missouri WCR Excel Award, served on the Board of Directors of the St. Louis Association of Realtors and was the Local Chapter President of the Women's Council of Realtors. In 2002, she was elected Governor of the St. Louis Chapter of the Women's Council of Realtors. She was a prolific crafter, creating and selling many products including decorations and cards. She was an avid gardener, wonderful cook (especially Italian food) and most likely baked a zillion birthday cakes in her lifetime. Her creativity is a legacy that lives on in her children and grandchildren. After retirement, she moved with her husband to Seattle to be near her children and grandchildren. After 11 years they relocated to North Carolina and lived with her daughter, Kelly's family in Chapel Hill. A celebration of life for Betty will be at 12:00 p.m. Saturday, June 17, 2017 at Hutchens Mortuary. Family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
